In partnership with TreeUtah, over 550 members of The McGillis School community, including 386 students, 50 teachers, and 120 volunteers, gathered for TREEkun Olam. This inaugural day of community service was a hands-on experience of planting trees that will immediately impact our local climate and community.

We hosted a day of community tree planting on May 11, 2022. This day of service, which we called TREEkun Olam, provides our entire community with hands-on experience planting trees that will immediately impact our climate and community. This day of service was also a meaningful way to honor our 30th Anniversary.
Supported by parents, alumni parents, grandparents, alumni and community partners, our current generation of McGillis students planted trees for future generations to enjoy. We were able to plant 41 trees, one by each Family Group. Students, teachers and volunteers wrote their hopes, wishes, and blessings for the tree, our community, and the world on slips of paper that were planted with their group’s tree -- truly planting for a better tomorrow.
This day of service will provide our entire community with the hands-on experience of planting trees that will immediately impact our climate and community as well as be a meaningful way to honor our 30th anniversary.
