McGillis Is Different: Meet Jackson Bellaimey

McGillis Is Different: Meet Jackson Bellaimey

Watch the video below for a peek into Mr. Bellaimey's classroom.

Mr. Bellaimey is a Middle School Spanish Teacher, joining McGillis in 2020. He grew up in Minneapolis and started learning Spanish in 6th grade. Ever since, it has taken him on some amazing adventures. He played on a university volleyball team in Mendoza, Argentina while studying abroad. He lived in San Lucas Tolimán, Guatemala for a year with his wife, Mackenzie, while working for a community development nonprofit. Once he accidentally ended up in a cooking class in northern Spain that was entirely devoted to seafood (not his favorite, unfortunately), however, he de-inked the squid, brined the anchovies, and tried everything anyway. Throughout it all, Spanish opened Jackson to so many great conversations and friendships. He’s been teaching Spanish since 2012 and has loved every minute of it.

As McGillis celebrates its 30th anniversary, what is a memory you would like to share with our community?
Even after just one year of teaching at McGillis, I have so many fond memories of great people sharing conversations and adventures (often while wearing bright colors and tutus).
