Magpie Market

Magpie Market will take place on Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 5-8 PM on the McGillis campus. This annual community event is an opportunity to enjoy food trucks, kids’ activities, face painters, and the company of our Kehilah. We will also celebrate the creativity and talents of our community with a market including:

  • A range of handcrafted and local items and gift certificates for sale
  • Opportunity Drawing items
  • A Balloon Harvest $20 per balloon, with mystery prizes valued $20 and up
  • The Children’s Mini Market featuring jewelry, artwork, candles, notecards, and more made by McGillis students
  • A Magpie Pantry offering a variety of homemade & homegrown food items
  • Gear Swap - donate your gently used outdoor gear and shop for new finds

Opportunity Drawings

Opportunity drawing tickets will be available at the Magpie Market!

Gear Swap Guidelines

Does your family have outdoor gear that you’ve outgrown or no longer use? Donate it to the McGillis Gear Swap for other families to purchase and enjoy.

We will accept the following donated items:

  • Outdoor equipment -  bikes, skis, and sports equipment (child and adult) in working condition
  • Gently used soft and hard goods in good condition - helmets, goggles, ski pants & jackets, gloves, athletic footwear in good condition
  • General gear - hydration packs, headlamps, camping gear, etc.

Please label items with a suggested price and deliver the items to the M.A.C. after school on Friday, September 20 or on Saturday, September 21 between 3:00 - 5:00 PM. Proceeds will go to The McGillis School. Gear that is not sold at the event may be reclaimed or will be donated.

If you have questions or would like to volunteer at the Magpie Market, please contact Steph Duffy at sduffy@mcgillisschool.org.

All proceeds will benefit TREEkun Olam, our annual tree planting event.
