30th Anniversary Community Celebration

Last Thursday, over 500 members of the McGillis Kehilah came together at Red Butte Garden to celebrate what makes our community special. We reconnected, reminisced, and raised money to support McGillis students who rely on tuition assistance and scholarships. We exceeded our $100,000 goal for the Paddle Raise and received an additional $50,000 in support from the Janet Quinney Lawson Foundation.

After the Paddle Raise, Josh Ritter gave an incredible performance for our community. We are grateful to Josh Ritter and his band for spending the evening with us as we celebrated 30 years of McGillis.

Thank you to everyone who made our Concert & Community Celebration a night to remember. And thank you to our Concert Sponsors who ensured that every dollar raised that evening went  directly to supporting our Magpies.

McGillis is a place that values diversity of all kinds, and welcomes students to be their authentic selves in this world. We strive to increase our diversity, and we lean into learning about diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging as a community. This work matters to us. Increasing diversity matters to us, as it makes us a stronger school community and exposes us to cultural, religious, and ethnic differences that helps us grow as understanding people.

We can't think of a better way to mark The McGillis School’s 30 year anniversary, than by honoring its legacy of a community that was founded on values. And to celebrate our future and the promise of a better tomorrow, by recognizing our collective power in our ability to make a difference by making certain that everyone that wants to be a part of the McGillis community has the opportunity to belong. Thank you for shaping who McGillis is today… and who we’ll be in the next 30 years. Thank you to the McGillis community for taking a big step forward to ensure socio-economic diversity thrives at McGillis.
