I am currently reading:

I'm currently reading Life on Other Planets by Aomawa Shields which is a memoir my aunt wrote about her experience as a woman of color stuck between the her passions of astrobiology and acting.

 

I am learning to:

I am learning how to make collages. I love the idea that by deconstructing the original image you can add different elements into the art that create something completely new and original. It has been a great way for me to use a lot of old art I have sitting around.

Tikkun Olam, I love the sentiment that repairing the world starts with you!

 

Favorite McGillis moment?

I love having the opportunity to work Summer Camps at McGillis. They are such a fun way to connect with students and encourage learning outside of the classroom. 

 

Defining moment that led you to a career in education (or to a career in your field at McGillis):

I started working at McGillis as an Aftercare Counselor while in college and eventually began coaching and substituting in classes across all grades here. I love the challenge, joy and growth that I experience everyday in this job.
