Education:

Bio:
I am a Salt Lake City native and grew up not too far from McGillis. I recently graduating from the University of Utah with my degree in Psychology and an emphasis in Positive Psychology and Health. Before coming to McGillis, I worked in the JCC Bernie Camp program as a summer camp counselor. From this experience, I developed a love and appreciation for working with children. The first time I walked in the doors at McGillis I felt instantly welcome and at home. Since coming to McGillis I have worked in the aftercare program, substitute taught for grades K-8 and led some fun Summer Excursion camps. I am proud to be a part of this community and begin my fifth year here! In my free time I like to hike, clean, and eat chocolate!

I am currently reading:
Farewell, My Subaru

I am learning to:
Do calligraphy

Favorite McGillis lunch:
Tomato and Brie Pasta and Thanksgiving Sandwich

Favorite McGillis tradition:
Getting together in the Gathering Space for K-2 Shabbat each Friday

Favorite McGillis moment:
Watching the lower school plays! More often than not a song from one of them is stuck in my head!

The defining moment that led to your career in education:
As graduation from college was approaching I realized I had to decide a career field. Although there were 100 different options that sounded interesting and amazing, I knew nothing would fill me with as much purpose as working with kids does. After that realization, the choice was easy!

What is a powerful moment you experienced at school?
The elementary school I attended had a tight-knit community very similar to McGillis. Knowing I would be taken care of by my school community beyond academic support gave me confidence and pride. My experience in elementary school showed me the lasting impact of a strong community.
