As a professional, my favorite things include great storytelling, beautiful design, relationship-building, and problem-solving. When I went back to school as a 40-something, I hoped I might someday have the chance to do exactly what I'm doing now at The McGillis School! It is such a joy to tell the McGillis story through writing, photos, and video. When I'm not at McGillis, my life revolves around time with my two daughters and two "bonus" sons and my partner, Brian, workouts at OrangeTheory Fitness, eating out whenever possible, practicing Italian on Duolingo, listening to podcasts, and making piles of various papers that someday I'll get around to organizing.

Favorite McGillis lunch:

Veggie hummus sandwiches and pancake bar!

I am learning to:

Be curious and ask questions instead of rushing to assumptions.

I am currently reading:

Too many books - I keep starting a new one without finishing the old ones! The Anthropocene Reviewed by John Green is one of my favorite, currently unfinished books.

Favorite McGillis tradition:

Any and all Shabbats. I grew up in the Chicago area, surrounded by the Jewish culture. I love Jewish traditions and rituals and am so grateful they're now a regular part of my life again!

Which value do you most appreciate?

Derech Eretz - having respect for all is one of my core values, and one of the most important values I have wanted to pass on to my children since before they were even born.

The defining moment that led to your career in education:

Before joining McGillis, my entire career had been spent as a staff member in various higher education institutions around the country, and I currently teach as an adjunct in the Gore School of Business at Westminster College. Education is everything for me! It is what forges connections, what gifts us opportunities in career and in life, and what lifts people around the world to be the best version of themselves.
