Covid-19 Taskforce Update 5/12/22

May 12, 2022

Dear McGillis Families,

Due to an increase in COVID-19 cases this week at School and nationally, including 6 new cases reported today at McGillis, we will return to requiring masks at all times indoors, effective immediately.

Having students and staff finish the school year in-person and in good health, including many end-of-year celebrations, is our highest priority. Therefore, we, in conjunction with the physicians on our COVID Task Force, feel that this mitigation step is a simple but important one.

We are also administering rapid COVID tests at school for individuals or entire grade levels when we see multiple positive cases or when individuals are experiencing cold-like symptoms.

We will continue to track the health of our community and make any necessary changes to our protocols. Please note that our supply of masks at school is limited, so we strongly encourage your students to hang on to their masks and use high-quality masks from home when possible.

As a reminder, please notify

  • If anyone in your household has received a positive COVID-19 test result.
  • If your child starts exhibiting COVID-related symptoms.
  • If your child has been exposed to someone with COVID-19.
