Bio:
Brooke was born and raised in Salt Lake City and her work experience has almost entirely focused on serving children and families. She and her partner, Jared, are raising two boys; a current 8th grader at McGillis and a little guy who is in his last year of preschool. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, live music, and camping.
As McGillis celebrates its 30th anniversary, what is a memory you would like to share with our community?
I worked in the Front Office for many years and a favorite memory is of my young son camped out under the big front desk when he was feeling tired or under the weather. Today, it's my co-workers' children who occasionally surprise me when their little faces appear from behind the front desk.

Pizza Bagels - I am a kid at heart!
Favorite McGillis tradition:
We occasionally make overhead announcements to signal an early release for athletic teams and it's become a tradition to end the announcement with a boisterous "Go Magpies!". Our Kindergarten classrooms usually join in making that final exclamation and it always makes me smile.
What is a powerful moment you experienced at school?
As a high schooler, I worked at an after-school program where Cassi Lanie was an older staff member. I learned a lot just from watching how she related to the kids. There's a special place in my heart for the folks who work at McGillis AfterSchool and I'm really proud of our program!
