Bio:
I was born and raised in Massachusetts and relocated to Utah this past summer. I graduated from Lafayette College with a degree in Neuroscience and through my master's program I became passionate about working with students with language-based learning differences. I am so excited to explore all of the outdoor opportunities Utah has to offer- I love trail running, hiking, bouldering and skiing. Aside from my that, I love reading, attempting to cook new foods, and spending time with friends and family! I am so excited to join the McGillis community.
I am learning to:
Knit...slowly!
I am currently reading:
The Book of Charlie by David Von Drehle
Which value do you most appreciate?
Derech Eretz- A community that focuses on respecting and empowering students to advocate for others is so critical!
The defining moment that led to your career in education:
Both of my brothers have dyslexia, and they really struggled initially in school. Eventually, when they were in 6th grade, they went to a program (much like the TLC!) for students with language-based learning differences. It was completely transformative for them and after seeing how much they grew as people, I knew I wanted to be a teacher for students with LBLD!.
