Education:
B.A. Spanish, Denison University; M.A. Spanish Literature and Linguistics, Miami University
Bio:
When I am not in the classroom, I can be found teaching group fitness classes in Cottonwood Heights and Holladay, spending time with my daughters, Lizzie and July, and my husband, Jason. Depending on the season, we can be found camping in the desert, paddling around on the reservoirs, skiing in the mountains, and chilling out at home. I love experiencing live music, taking long walks in my neighborhood, and also listening to good book while tackling the tenacious weeds that persist in my yard-garden.
I am learning to:
Teach Pilates
I am currently reading:
I am finishing Yellowface by R.F. Kuang and recently read Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver and Horse by Geraldine Brooks. That is weird for me because none of those books are cozy mysteries, which is my favorite genre.
Favorite McGillis moment?
Receiving the call from Tim Campbell offering me a position on this outstanding faculty.
Which value do you most appreciate?
Derech Eretz because it is the cornerstone upon which strong communities grow and thrive.
The defining moment that led to your career in education:
Teaching fellow campers how to tie sailing knots and right their capsized sailboats on the shores of Stony Lake at Camp Miniwanca was an "aha moment" when I realized that teaching might be the career for me.
