Laura Bradford, 1st Grade Teacher

Laura believes that each child is an individual who is special and unique, and that teaching provides an approach that recognizes, celebrates, and embraces the needs of each child. Each child brings something special to the classroom, and it is that individual creativity that makes the classroom a diverse place and an enriching learning environment.

Adrienne Lowe, 1st Grade Teacher

Adrienne believes that children come each day willing and ready to learn, and that it is our job to provide authentic and enriching activities to help guide them through their education. She wants to help students see not only the excitement there is in learning new things but also how learning empowers them throughout their lives.

Sarah McPhee, 1st Grade Long-term Substitute

Sarah feels children have and always will be some of her greatest teachers. It's important to create a classroom where all are learning from each other, by respecting the process and each other's individuality. She works to bring awareness to students; to instill in them a sense of the world around them and the enormous responsibility they have as global citizens.

Sarah has taught second grade, hip-hop, art, cooking, ESL in South Korea, ESL to Spanish speaking adults, and coordinated afterschool programs.

Phyllis hopes to provide challenging experiences to stimulate each student's independent and creative thinking.

Janette Massman, 1st Grade Assistant

Students should learn in a safe, fun environment. Children need to be given every opportunity to learn and expand their minds, whatever their background. McGillis offers this opportunity.
